Sourdough Made Easy

Who doesn’t love sourdough bread?! Its golden crunchy crust and delicious tangy flavor. Dipped in olive oil or made into a sandwich sourdough can be enjoyed in so many ways. One of my favorite ways is avocado toast.

Baking artisan sourdough at home is a lot easier than you might think. Whether you are knew to sourdough or a sourdough expert you will want to get your hands on a very special cookbook that I highly recommend. Artisan Sourdough Made Simple” by Emilie Raffa is a wonderful book full of easy and delicious recipes. It’s the beginner’s guide to delicious handcrafted bread with minimal kneading.

Emilie Raffa teaches you how to create your very own starter at home with only two ingredients. Baking your first loaf will be so easy and before you know it you’ll look like an expert. Your home will be filled with the fresh intoxicating aroma of freshly baked bread. Pretty soon friends will be begging to buy bread from you.

This cookbook is filled with over 65 recipes you’ll want to try. Some of my favorites are: High-Hydration Sourdough, Soft Honey Whole Wheat, Cinnamon Raisin Swirl, Roasted Garlic & Rosemary, Chocolate Chunk Focaccia, Skillet Greek Yogurt Flatbreads, and Sourdough Key Lime Cookies.

After your first successful loaf you will then start thinking about other sourdough accessories that you might need. I went a long time without proofing baskets. I always wanted them, but never knew if they were really necessary. I finally took the plunge and bought a set of baskets. Let me tell you that they are game changing! My loaves are turning out so beautiful now that I am proofing them in baskets. You can find a variety of proofing baskets on Amazon. I really like a set that comes with two baskets, liners for the baskets, a bread lame to make those beautiful designs on the top of your bread, and a dough scraper. Get your set of baskets here.
